Art has no boundaries. Art transcends geography, religion, language and time. That’s why we are able to appreciate the beauty in Michaelangelo’s Pieta, Van Gogh’s sunflowers, the cave paintings of Ajanta alike. Though we may not realise it, art has a unique power to connect people.
Perumalda's art disregards societal hierarchies, it reaches out and speaks to us - simply and honestly. Although nature is the dominant theme in Perumalda's art work, he has captured a range of scenes reflecting everyday life. Observant and contemplative, Perumalda took his art, not to art galleries, but to embellish the walls of tribal village homes. He consciously kept away from any public display of his art. This website is a tribute to the rich legacy of his art that he has left behind. We bring to you an eclectic collection of the little known paintings and sketches by this illustrious artist, whose talent is surpassed only by his humility.
